Best of Houzz Award for Service—X 10!

steveworks just won the Best of Houzz Award for Service for the tenth year in a row. Hosted annually, the Best of Houzz Award for Service recognizes building professionals with outstanding customer service according to their Houzz rating and client reviews.

We sat down with founder Steve Greenberg to ask what it is steveworks does to earn such kudos from their clients.

Q: What does it mean to steveworks to once again receive the Best of Houzz Award for Service?

Steve: I think it really sets us apart from other home renovation companies. It helps people understand that we have been around a long time and consistently provide a high level of service. Our entire team believes in service, and when we work with homeowners on a renovation, we put them first.

Q: Why do you think you get such rave reviews for your service on Houzz?

Steve: We emphasize clear and transparent communications with the client throughout the entire process—from sales to the job’s end. We provide information about the process and create timelines for both decisions and completion. These timelines are for our team and the customer.

I think another service that sets us apart is the design–build process. We carefully listen to what the client wants and needs to transform their house into a home that really works for them. And we respect their budget! We offer solutions that stretch their budget while also suggesting long-term savings through energy efficient upgrades. Our designer, Tova Greenberg, is in on all the conversations and provides design options, garnering feedback from the homeowner throughout the process. It’s very collaborative.

I think that clients really sense that customer service is part of the steveworks culture. Our crew takes pride in delivering the best product they can, and people say they are comfortable working with and communicating with our entire crew.

Q: Can you tell us about one homeowner you worked with recently who had mentioned having a fantastic experience and what the project was?

Steve: One client that sings our praises is the homeowner of the project we call Sage Green Saves Green. We provided design–build services for a completely remodeled and expanded home using the latest building science—from the tighter building envelope and state-of-the-art systems—to provide energy savings throughout.

One of the homeowners is a chemist at MIT, and she loved understanding all the details of the renovation.  She and Tova really clicked, and Tova walked her through the design process—including building science and universal design details—that made her home really functional. Tova also took the time to really understand how the homeowners use their house.

The homeowner repeatedly told us how much fun it was to work with us, and how she enjoyed her interaction with our crew and trades. The entire process was not arduous or stressful for either side, and our open back-and-forth conversations and collaboration helped make decisions easier.

Q: How does it feel to receive this award for each year for the past ten years?

Steve: We are thrilled that we are being consistent in our service and certainly proud to be recognized by our customers. However, we don’t work to get the award. Instead, I’d say it’s a by-product of how we run our business.
